I am privileged to live in a beautiful area of Snowdonia in the north west of Wales. There are few places where rocky peaks can be found overlooking long sandy beaches. In between are sparkling lakes and fresh white-water rivers run through native oak woodland. The land of Wales has such a great variety of landscapes for a small country. The plentiful supply of water from above ensures a lush and green surrounding, and a regular supply of sun (yes, really!) lights it to perfection. This is not always a chocolate box landscape the many ages of Welsh culture have melted into 'the land that God made'.
Set in one the most picturesque villages in North Wales, surrounded by rivers, dramatic crags and woodland, is situated our gift shop.
Betws y Coed offers an interesting variety of shops, unique to have so many shops in such a small village.
Wouldnt you rather shop surrounded by waterfalls, majestic trees, the roar of a river and stunning views?
Situated on the main road through Betws-y-Coed, Alison Bradley Gallery exhibits the full range of Alison's original oil paintings and charcoal drawings, as well as reproduction prints, greetings cards and a picture framing service by Alison's partner Jon.
Situated in the centre of Betws-y-Coed, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park is the Log Cabin/Caban Coed, a quality gift shop at affordable prices.
At Cwmni Cacen Gri (The Welshcake Company) you can enjoy Welshcakes at their best, hot from the griddle. All our cakes are baked daily on the premises using locally sourced ingredients so you won't find fresher. We also make sandwiches using proper bakers bread rolls and serve the finest illy coffee. Pop in and see us for snacks, a light lunch or even order a picnic to enjoy on your travels.
Welsh "tapestry" bedspreads have been woven at Trefriw Woollen Mills for over 100 years. The choice of colourings is both classic and contemporary and the timeless geometric pattern compliments both modern and traditional homes. The designs are very clear because two cloths are woven on top of each other and the figuring is created when the bottom cloth is brought to the surface of the fabric.
This double weave is also produced in patterns with smaller repeats which are used for throws, cushions, waistcoats, dinner sets and purses.
Tapestry products can be ordered on-line at website link.
Anna Davies established in 1956 by Anna Davies herself now Mrs Anna Evans in the village of Betws-y-Coed which is at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. We have always been privately owned and managed.
Anna Davies has evolved like the beautiful village it is situated in, offering a large range of products from over 200 suppliers, all of which are of excellent quality and competively priced. We have been with many of our suppliers since their establishment.
