Welsh Traditional

Tu Hwnt I’r Bont is a unique award winning tearooms and restaurant situated on the west bank of the river Conwy beside the famous Inigo Jones Bridge in the picturesque market town of Llanrwst, at the gate way to Snowdonia.

Ideal for light lunches, morning coffee and afternoon cream teas and high teas, our aim is to consistently serve high quality home made food that you can enjoy in this unique traditional setting. We have our own carpark, traditional indoor seating and outdoor tea garden, both with waitress service.

Tu Hwnt i’r Bont (Beyond the Bridge) was built in 1480 as a residential dwelling but has been a tearoom for over 50 years. We are reknowned for our cream teas, traditional BaraBrith , home made cakes and lunches.

Tu Hwnt i’r Bont has been commended by the True Taste of Wales Awards as one of the best places for eating out in Wales. We have also received a commendation for our traditional Bara Brith as served in the tearooms and also available as a small loaf to take away.

During the school holidays (mid June to early September) we will no longer close on Mondays but will remain open 7 days a week.

We will continue to be open for weekends only throughout November and December.

Possibly the most photographed building in North Wales
